Neonatal lupus erythematosus with fever and rash as the first manifestation: a case report

Abstract: A 21-day-old newborn infant presented with persistent fever and rashes all over the body for 2 days with progressive poor spirit, bloating, shortness of breath, even close contact with tuberculosis around birth, with antinuclear antibody (titer) 1∶1000, positive for anti Sjogren's syndrome antigen A (SSA) antibody, Sjogren's syndrome antigen B (SSB) antibody, and anti-Ro52 antibody. The diagnosis of neonatal lupus erythematosus was made. After treatment of gamma globulin (IVIG), 1g/kg, the child's temperature was dropping gradually within 48 hours, rashes reduced gradually.
