A case of monkeypox with perianal ulcer as the first manifestation

Abstract: A 38-year-old male presented with perianal ulceration for one week and pustules appeared on the trunk and limbs for three days after homosexual anal or oral sex two weeks ago, accompanying fever, sore throat, and general body aches. Physical examination revealed red swelling throat, superficial neck lymph nodes enlargement. Mung bean size pustular rashes scattered on the trunk and limbs. Several soy-sized ulcers surrounded the anus with tenderness. MPXV-qPCR for all rashes tested were positive. The diagnosis of monkey pox was confirmed.
