Efficacy of CO2-laser combined with photodynamic therapy for treating perianal and anal condyloma acuminatum among 56 men who have sex with men

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of CO2-laser combined with photodynamic therapy (PDT) for treating perianal and anal condyloma acuminatum among men who have sex with men (MSM). Methods: The patients with perianal and anal condyloma acuminatum among MSM were treated by CO2-laser combined with PDT.and positive psychological support. The clinical efficacy was analyzed after three months treatment. Results: Fifty six patients were recruited in the study. The cure rate and the relapse rate of condyloma acuminatum were 85.7% (48/56) ,14.3% (8/56), respectively. There was no serious adverse reaction. Conclusion: The method of CO2-laser combined with PDT for perianal and anal condyloma acuminatum among MSM is effective and safe.
