Abstract: Objective: To detect the expressions of Caveolin-1 and Met in adjacent nonmalignant epithelial tissue, actinic keratosis (AK), Bowen disease (BD) and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) tissues. Methods: The expressions of Caveolin-1 and Met in normal skin tissues, AK, BD and cSCC were detected by immunohistochemistry SP technique. Results: The positive expression rates of Caveolin-1 in normal skin tissues,AK, BD and cSCC were 16.7%, 36.8%, 52.9% and 78.9% respectively and that of Met were 8.3%, 26.3%, 58.8%, 84.2% respectively, with significant differences among four groups by Kruskal-wallis H Test (Ps<0.05). There was a positive correlation between the level Caveolin-1 and Met expression in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma  (P<0.05). Conclusion: The positive expression rates of Caveolin-1 and Met in four groups showed a gradual increased trend as the grade malignancy of normal skin,  AK, BD and cSCC and there may be a synergism between Caveolin-1 and Met in the development of cSCC.
