Infant sporotrichosis: a case report

Abstract: A 10-month-old girl presented with plaques on her right face for 8 months. Dermatological examination showed that a horizontal red patch on the right face with scales and scabs. The fungus culture was positive and morphologically identified as sporotrichosis. The patient was diagnosed as fixed sporotrichosis and she received oral terbinafine 50mg once a day, and topical naphtifene ketoconazole cream twice a day. The scabs fell off, but the plaque did not shrink significantly after the treatment for 12 weeks.
