Abstract: Postherpetic pseudohernia is a rare neurological complication in patients with herpes zoster, with clinical manifestations similar to abdominal wall hernia. The protuberant mass of abdominal wall caused by pseudohernia of abdominal wall is actually the result of segmental paralysis or weakness of abdominal muscle caused by virus. Most patients can recover completely and have a good prognosis. Two cases of postherpetic pseudohernia were reported and the cases reported in domestic and foreign literature for ten years were analyzed. Twenty seven patients were analyzed, the average age was 68.2 years old, 63.0% were male. The most frequently involved is T11 (31.4%). Of 27 cases, the abdominal pseudohernia occurred after skin symptoms in 25 cases, with an average of 23 days. The electromyography examination was performed in 3 cases and two cases were abnormal, the imaging examination was performed in 15 cases and 5 were abnormal. Fourteen cases (51.9%) had complete self-cured, with an average time of 3.4 months (range from 1 to 8 months), and three (11.1%) had partial recovery, with an average follow-up time of 2.3 months. The recovery time of seven patients was unknown and one lost follow-up.
