Abstract: A 34-year-old female presented with mass in the left buttocks increased rapidly and occasionally accompanied with itching for 1 year. Histopathology showed a large amount of lobular adipose tissue was in the whole layer and subcutaneous layer of the dermis which was irregularly distributed, some grew around blood vessels, and the surrounding fibrous connective tissue proliferated. It can be seen that the clustered or linear arrangement of adipocytes are embedded in the collagen fibers of the dermis. The boundary between dermis and subcutaneous fat is not obvious or no boundary. MRI scan of hip joint showed the subcutaneous fat of the left hip thicker than that of the opposite side, the thicker part was about 7.5 cm, and no obvious abnormal signal was seen. The diagnosis of nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis was made. There was no recurrence after surgical resection.
