Abstract: alopecia areata (AA) is a common non scar hair loss. The prognosis of AA in children is poor and the condition is easy to repeat, which can seriously affect the mental health and quality of life of patients and parents. In recent years, it has been gradually found that tyrosine protein kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling pathway plays an important role in the pathogenesis of AA. At present, many case reports and small clinical trials have reported the efficacy and safety of JAK inhibitors in the treatment of childhood alopecia areata. Therefore, JAK inhibitors may become a new choice for the treatment of moderate and severe AA in children.
