Clinical analysis of 256 children with Henoch-Schönlein purpura

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the clinical features of children with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura. Methods: The clinical data of 256 children with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura was analyzed retrospectively. Results: Two hundred and fifty-six children (144 male and 112 female) aged from 2 to 14 years, including 66 patients less than 7 years old, 125 patients from 7 to12 years old and 65 patients from 12 to 14 years old. The early symptom was skin lesions in 151 patients (44.92%). One hundred and forty-two patients (55.46%) had a history of upper respiratory infection, of whom 81 patients (57.04%) were accompanied with renal damage. One hundred and sixteen patients had a history of abdominal manifestations, of whom 82 patients (70.69%) were accompanied with renal damage. One hundred and three patients(40.23%)accompanied with joint damage. Conclusion: The children with upper respiratory tract infection and abdominal symptoms are more likely to suffer from renal damage in the children with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura.
