Abstract: Objective: To compare the difference in clinical phenotype of the patients with pemphigus between the Uyghur nationality and Han nationalities in Xinjiang province. Method: The clinical data of 121 patients with pemphigus, firstly admitted to our hospital, were analyzed. From several aspects (e.g., onset age, clinical classification, mucosal involvement and disease classification), we studied the clinical differences for the pemphigus between the Uyghur and Han nationalities. Result:?Compared with patients of Han nationality, those of Uyghur nationality showed increased frequency of mucosal involvement, the risk of suffering from ordinary pemphigus and the severity of the illness (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with Han nationality, pemphigus of the Uyghur nationality appears more in young and middle-aged patients. These patients are more likely to suffer from ordinary pemphigus and occur mucosal damage; in addition, mortality rates are significantly higher.
