Abstract:

Objective: To determine the clinical and pathological features of poroma. Methods: The data of eight cases with poroma was analysed retrospectively. Results: Out of the 8 cases, 3 were male and 5 were female. The age at onset was over 40 years in 6 patients and the lesions presented on palms and soles in 4 cases. Two cases were misdiagnosed as pyogenic granuloma, one hemangioma, two dermatofibroma and one verruca vulgaris. Only two cases with typical lesions were diagnosed as poroma at their first clinical visit. The pathological featrues were in accordance with the diagnosis of poroma in all of the 8 patients. Conclusion: The clinical manifestation of poroma is similar to many types of hyperplastic skin diseases and the diagnosis needs histopathology examination
