Update of fumaric acid esters for treating psoriasis

Abstract: Fumaric acid ester (FAE) is effective and safe for treating moderate to severe psoriasis. FAE is involved in immune defense process by influencing various kinds of cells, such as T cells, dendritic cells, neutrophil, keratinocytes and endothelial cells. The pathogenesis and clinical application of FAE in the treatment of psoriasis is reviewed.
