Analysis of HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) in Linyi City from 2010-2015

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the data of HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) in Linyi from 2010-2015, to provide evidence for the strategies of HIV/AIDS prevention and control. Methods: Data of VCT outpatient from 2010 to 2015 were collected from the national HIV/AIDS information system. The analyzed information included general demographic features, reasons for counseling and the positivity rate. Results: There were 65 465 people received VCT service from 2010 to 2015. HIV antibody tests were performed in 64 524 people and 382 (0.59%) were positive. Among 382 cases, 344 (90.05%) aged from 19 to 49-year-old , male (84.82%), 324 were male. The education level was 9 years or less in 222 cases. Two hundred and nine (54.7%) had a history of men who have sex with men. Conclusion: The intervention should be targeted at those who are male young adults, men who have sex with men and those who have lower education level.
