Abstract: Urticaria is a disease characterized by recurring itchy wheals and angioedema or both. Degranulation of mast cells plays an important role in the pathogenesis of urticaria, which increases the release of histamine, various cytokines and inflammatory mediators, and leads to the vasodilation, increased permeability, cell recruitment and pruritus. In this article, we review the influencing factors of skin mast cell degranulation from the extracellular substance, receptors on mast cell surface, and intracellular signal pathways.

Key words: urticaria, mast cell, degranulation
