Norwegian scabies in the elderly: a case report

Abstract: Norwegian scabies (NS) is a rare and serious variant of scabies. We report an elderly male with Parkinson's disease and diabetes mellitus combined with Norwegian scabies in poor general condition. The patient presented with erythema and papules all over the body, with diffuse thick white scales and crusts for more than 2 months. Sarcoptic mite was detected by a dander microscope and the diagnosis of Norwegian scabies was made.
