Abstract: Mesenchymal stem cell derived exosomes, as a non-cellular therapeutic agent, have attracted much attention in the research on treatment and improvement of skin photoaging in recent years. However, whether there are mechanistic differences in improving skin photoaging between exosomes from different sources of mesenchymal stem cells has rarely been explored. This paper reviews the research progress of exosomes from three types of mesenchymal stem cells, namely adipose tissue mesenchymal stem cells, human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells, and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, as well as other stem cell sources such as human induced pluripotent stem cells, in the mechanism of improving the mechanisms of skin photoaging, providing a theoretical basis for the use of exosomes from different stem cell sources to improve skin photoaging.
