Abstract: We analyzed the factors for delayed detection of 3 leprosy cases with disability in this paper. Patient one was misdiagnosed in neurology department for many times with poor efficacy , and did not seek for other medical treatment for more than ten years until ulcer and disability appeared. Patient two was mental disordered who lived alone and did not seek for medical treatment when symptoms appeared, until developed to deformity after 4 years. Patient three developed to deformity 5 years after the neurological misdiagnosis. The discovery process of the above 3 leprosy cases suggested that conducting clue survey for the widowed, lonely or mental disabled persons and training neurologists should be performed to promote early detection of leprosy.
