Abstract: Objective: To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of low-dose superficial X-ray irradiation combined with carteolol eye drops in the treatment of infantile hemangioma. Methods: The patients from June 2017 to June 2018 were treated with low dose shallow X-ray irradiation of SRT-100TM radiotherapy system with the tube voltage of 50 KV and dose of 150 cGy, once a week for 3 times. The patients were treated with local carteolol after laser therapy. The patients were followed up for 1 year. Results: Seventy-two cases completed treatment and follow-up. Of 72 patients, 56 were significantly improved, 12 were improved, 3 were less improved, 1 was ineffective, with an effective rate of 94.4%. There was no obvious adverse reaction except temporary skin pigmentation in 2 cases. Conclusion:The therapy of low-dose shallow X-ray irradiation combined with carteolol eye drops is safe and effective in the treatment of infantile hemangioma.
