Advances in antiandrogen therapy of acne

Abstract: Acne vulgaris is a common chronic inflammatory disorder involving pilosebaceous organs. Androgens is well known to play a pivotal role in the initiation of acne. Antiandrogen medicines such as Clascoterone and combined oral contraceptives have already been used in clinic. Besides, some other medicines such as ASC-J9 cream, cyproterone acetate lotion, ketoconazole cream, spironolactone, flutamide, etc. are also promising. The antiandrogen in the treatment of acne is reviewed in this paper.
