Abstract: The case of erythema elevatum diutinum (EED) complicated with xanthomatosis has not been reported . This paper reports a case of EED complicated with xanthelasma successfully treated with dapsonea. A 46-year-old famale presented with pruritic erythema all over the body for 2 years, and a yellow plaque in the size of a grain of rice deep on the double upper eyelid for 1 year. Skin biopsy of the erythema suggested thinner epidermis, and neutrophils, a few eosinophils and infiltration of lymphocytes around the blood vessels, no bvious fibrinoid changes were observed in the vascular wall. The finding of reflectance confocal microscopy of yellow plaque indicated that many of foam cells in the middle layer of the dermis, the epidermis was basically normal. The multiple erythema and yellow plaque completely subsided after 7 weeks and 10 months of treatment with dapsone respectively.
