Photodynamic therapy as an adjunctive treatment in Mycobacterium marinum infection: a case report

Abstract: The characteristic manifestation of superficial infection by Mycobacterium marinum (M.marinum) shows skin infectious granuloma. Antibiotics are considered as the primary choice for the treatment for patients with M.marinum skin infections. This article presents a case of cutaneous M.marinum infection with antibiotic intolerance, which was successfully treated using the combination of photodynamic therapy and pulsed laser.
