Dermoscopic features of multiple basal cell carcinoma

Abstract: Objective: To determine the dermoscopic features of multiple basal cell carcinoma (BCC). Methods: The data of 7 patients (25 lesions) diagnosed as BCCs by dermoscopic and biopsy was retrospectively reviewed. Results: Under the dermoscopy, the image demonstrated scattered vascular pattern in 20 lesions and vascular pattern in 5, blue-grey ovoid nests in 21, brown globules/dots in16, atypical red vessels in 15, featureless areas in 13, hypopigmented in 12, telangiectasia in 11, haemorrhage-ulceration in 11, maple leaf-like structure in 10, corkscrew vessels in10, branching vessels in 7, red balls in 7, comma blood vessels in 5, red dot in 4 and wheel-like structure in 2. Conclusion: The common dermoscopic features of multiple BCCs are scattered vascular pattern, blue-grey ovoid nests and brown globules/dots.
