Abstract: Objective: To explore the diagnostic value of reflectance confocal microscopy(RCM) in the postoperative observation of basal cell carcinoma. Methods: Twenty-two patients with basal cell carcinoma were diagnosed by RCM at 1,3,6,12 month postoperatively, histopathological examination was performed once tumor tissue was found in RCM. Results: Regular reexamination was conducted in 22 patients by RCM. Tumor cells were found at the operative site in 4 patients at 1month, in 1patient at 3 months and 1 patient at 6 months postoperatively and they were diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma by pathological examination again. The remaining 16 patients were followed up for 1 year, and no obvious tumor tissue was found at the operative site. Conclusion: RCM has important application values in postoperative follow-up of basal cell carcinoma.
