Abstract: Objective: To establish the animal model of Treponema pallidum strain clinically collected. Methods: The clinically isolated Treponema pallidum strain was prepared for suspension. The suspension was injected into New Zealand rabbit and continuously passaged to next generations. The clinical symptoms of rabbit and serological changes were observed and tested. Results: A total of 6 strains of Treponema pallidum (A-F) were collected and 5 strains (A, C, D, E, F) were successfully inoculated. TPPA conversion was detected on days 28, 7, 14, 32 and 35, respectively. The strain A was passaged and the testicles showed swelling after inoculated strain A for 6 days and positive TPPA conversion after 7.7 days on average. Conclusion: The strain of Treponema pallidum can be successfully isolated clinically and passaged by rabbit testicular inoculation method.
