Secondary syphilis in face with nodular lesions: a case report

Abstract: A 20-year-old male presented with red nodules on the his face for one month. Dermatological examination: red nodules with different sizes can be seen on the face around the nose and the mouth. Some of the nodules are fused with verrucous hyperplasia and covered with yellow pus scabs. Laboratory examination: TPPA positive, RPR positive (titer 1∶8). Histological examination showed that a large number of neutrophils migrated into the stratum corneum and epidermis. And a large number of plasma cells, lymphocytes and histiocytes accompanied with scattered eosinophil infiltration were seen in the dermis. The final diagnosis is secondary syphilis. After treatment with benzylpenicillin, the lesions disappeared.
