Update on vitiligo susceptibility genes

Abstract: Vitiligo is an acquired skin and mucosal pigmentation disease and the pathogenesis is unknown. Genetic factors play an important role in the pathogenesis of vitiligo. The update of vitiligo susceptibility genes according to gene function classification, such as immune regulation related genes, melanocyte related genes, apoptosis related genes, and oxidative stress related genes is summarized in this paper, hoping to be helpful to understand the pathogenesis of the disease.
