Epidemiological characteristics of leprosy from 1991 to 2020 in Baoan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province

Abstract: A total of 86 cases of leprosy were found in Baoan District from 1991 to 2020. Most patients were imported cases, 56 were from provinces in the central and southwest of China, such as Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangxi. Sixty four patients (74.4%) were multibacillary leprosy. The diagnostic delays was 24 months and the rate of grade 1 disability was 24.4% and that of grade 2 disability was 18.6%. The peak age of incidence was from 15 to 45 years old.
