Analysis on grade 2 disability factors among 482 new leprosy cases in Guangxi

Abstract: The data of new leprosy cases in Guangxi from 2010 to 2020 were collected from National Leprosy Prevention Management Information System and analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. A total of 482 new leprosy cases were collected and 89 (18.46%) had grade 2 disability. The result showed the risk factors for grade 2 disability included male (OR=2.507), age ≥60 years old (OR=2.622), delayed diagnosis ≥24 months (OR=7.117) and with swelled/tenderness of the peripheral nerves at the initial diagnosis (with or more than 1 swelled/tenderness of the peripheral nerve, OR=5.179, OR=11.072, respectively) (Ps<0.05).
