Abstract: A 5-year-old boy presented with stiff skin and hypertrichosis on the left thigh for four years. Histological examination showed thickening and proliferating bundles of haphazardly arranged collagen fibers without infiltration of inflammatory cells. Adipose tissue was present between the collagen fibers. Staining of Alcian blue showed dermal deposits of mucin. The diagnosis of segmental stiff skin syndrome was made.
