Clinical analysis of 10 patients with SAPHO syndrome

Abstract: The range of age in ten patients (5 males and 5 females) at onset was from 21 to 63 years old. The all 10 patients presented as palmoplantar pustulosis, acne and psoriasis-like lesions. Imageological examination showed that the anterior chest wall was involved in 10 patients, spinal involvement in 6, peripheral bone and joint in 3, hip joint in 2. One patient was complicated with nodular goiter. Ten patients were given immunization medication, 8 cases were given non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and 2 patients were given surgical treatment. The symptoms of arthritis and skin lesions were improved in 6 patients, only skin lesions were improved in 2, only arthritis was improved in one and the treatment was ineffective in one.
