Abstract: Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by variable clinical manifestations that can affect many organs and can cause organs damage. Some patients with SLE do not respond well to conventional drugs, including corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents, and the adverse reaction is obvious after long-term treatment. The emergence of biological agents has brought some new choices for the therapy of SLE. Those agents has achieved remarkable effect in clinical practice. The recent advances on the biological agents for SLE were reviewed in this paper.
