5-Aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy in the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the face: a case report

Abstract: A 94-year-old male presented with pink plaques on the left temporal region for 2 years. The pathological feature was in accordance with the diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was treated with 5-Aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT), output power 90 mW/cm2, 25 minutes, once a week, for 3 times. The lesion was cured and no recurrence.
