Adult myofibroma: a case report

Abstract: Myofibroma is a single benign mesenchymal tumor, which usually occurs in infants under 2 years old and rarely in adults. We report a case of adult myofibroma. The patient presented with hard nodules without painand ulceration. Pothological examination showed that tumor masses could be seen in the dermis, which showed “biphasic pattern”. A large number of vascular cavities amorphous mucuslike substances and ronnd cells can be seen in the center, a large number of swirling fat fusiform cells can be seen around them. Immunohistochemistry showed the tumor cells were positive for SMA. The patient was treated with surgical resection.
