Monkeypox with penile papule and plaque: a case report

Abstract: A 37-year-old male presented with a penile mass and edema for 2 weeks. Physical examination showed the dorsal side of penis was swollen, and a yellowish-white patch of coin size could be seen, with well-defined borders, the center was dark red and slightly sunken, and there were yellowish-white papules of miliary size scattered around the margin, which was rigid to touch, and no secretions and pustules and lymph nodes were not enlarged. Pharyngeal swab and surface of penile plaque tested positive for monkeypox virus. The diagnosis of monkeypox was made. Epidemiological investigation and self-isolation observation was carried out and the skin lesions basically subsided after 2 weeks.
