Abstract: Objective: To analyze the clinical features and laboratory indicators of monkeypox patients in Nanjing, and to provide evidence for the prevention and control of monkeypox epidemic. Methods: The demographic data and laboratory indicators of 88 patients from Nanjing Second Hospital from July 2023 to September 2023 were analyzed respectively. Results: Forty-five of 88 cases were confirmed as monkeypox infection. Forty-four cases were male and one was female. 36 cases (81.82%) of males recently had homosexual behavior. 25 cases (55.56%) were infected with HIV and 17 cases (37.78%) were infected with syphilis. 39 cases (86.67%) had rashes, mainly distributed in perineum and perianal area (29/39). 27 cases (60.00%) had fever. 12 cases (26.67%) had lymph node enlargement. C-reactive protein was increased in 33 patients (73.33%), procalcitonin in 39 patients (86.67%), and interleukin-6 in 41 patients (91.11%). Anal swab had the highest positive rate (63.49%) and blister fluid swab had the highest positive rate (79.71%) in monkeypox patients. Conclusion: The main infection objects in Nanjing area are men who have sex with men. Anal swabs can be given priority when screening high-risk groups, and blood samples or blister fluid swabs can be given priority when monitoring the condition of confirmed patients.
