Generalized molluscum contagiosum in vulvar and perianal areas: a case report

Abstract: Generalized molluscum contagiosum in perianal and vulva of adults is rare and easily misdiagnosed. We report a 37-year-old female patient presented with a dense, diffuse, leather-colored flat papule of rice grain to peanut size around the anus and vulva. The patient had been visit to in several hospitals. She was diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus in another hospital one month ago and was mainly treated with glucocorticoids. The lesions of molluscum contagiosum were treated with excochleation combined with liquid nitrogen freezing, and the patient is under followed up.
