Update of the correlation between bacterial biofilm and skin diseases

Abstract: The role of bacterial biofilm in the pathogenesis of acne has been received more attention. Recent studies have demonstrated that biofilm can be detected in the lesions of acne, atopic dermatitis, pyogenic sweat adenitis, impetigo and skin trauma infection. There are different bacterial biofilms in various skin diseases, which has been associated with different pathogenic mechanisms. The role of bacterial biofilm in the development of skin diseases is reviewed in this paper.
