Abstract: A 50-year-old woman presented with a 6-month history of painful erythema and pustules on the scalp. Physical examination showed purple-red infiltrative plaques distributed diffusely on the scalp, with pustules patchy alopecia areas locally. Laboratory examination showed that bacterial and fungal cultures from pustule liquid were negative. The histological examination showed hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis in the epidermis and diffuse inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes, plasmocytes and neutrophils in the upper and mid dermis. Antibiotic treatment was ineffective for the patient, while oral corticosteroids and topical tacrolimus were effective. The patient was diagnosed with erosive pustular dermatosis of the scalp.
