Cutaneous infections of Pseudomonas aeruginosa manifested as repeated rupturing, suppuration and scar: a case report

Abstract: A 28-year-old female presented with repeated ulceration, suppuration and scar on the left calf for more than 6 months. Physical examination showed erythema 5 cm×6 cm in size on the  the left calf, some were concave scars, some were raised lesions, soft and purulent secretion could be squeezed out. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was indenfied by mNGS. Cefixime capsule, 0.2g, twice daily was given. The lesions subsided and purulent secretion disappeared after treated for 2 weeks. No recurrence was observed after 2 months follow-up.
