Efficacy assessment of suction-curettage in the treatment of epidermal cyst complicated with infection

Abstract: Objective: To access the efficacy of suction curettage in the treatment of epidermal cyst with infection. Methods: The patient with epidermal cysts from April 2019 to September 2020 in department of dermatology. The patients were treated with suction curettage. All the patients were followed up to access the lesion recovery, recurrence, scar, other adverse complications and patient satisfactio. Results: There were 20 patients were collected in this study. All patients were followed up for more than 1 year. 18 cases were cured without recurrence and obvious scar. Two patients recurred more than half a month after treatment and then cured after given the second treatment. The satisfaction of all patients was 95% one year after operation, and there were no peripheral tissue infection and other complications. Conclusions: Suction curettage in the treatment of epidermal cyst with infection has good effect, low recurrence rate, no scar and high patient satisfaction.
