Update of the epidemiology and pathogenic risk factors of prurigo nodularis

Abstract: Prurigo nodularis is an inflammatory skin disease and the incidence has been on the rise in recent years. The etiology and pathogenesis are complicated and unclear. The endogenous risk factors of prurigo nodularis, such as genetic factor, psychiatric factor and other skin diseases and exogenous factors such as infection and drugs were reporterd in recent years. The advances in the epidemiology and risk factors of prurigo nodularis is summarized in this review.
