Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy: a case report and literature review

Abstract: Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy is a rare, self-limiting cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis, which mostly occurs in children aged 2 to 60 months. Its typical features include the rapid appearance of purpura, edema, and fever on the skin of the face and limbs. This paper reports one case and reviews relevant literature, summarizing the clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations of 15 children, so as to help dermatologists and pediatricians better identify this disease.
