Botulinum toxin type-A in the treatment of psoriasis: a case report and literatures review

Abstract: It was reported that Botulinum toxin type-A was effective for treating recalcitrant plaque psoriasis and inverse psoriasis . One patient with plaque psoriasis treated with Botulinum toxin type-A was reported in this paper and related literatures were reviewed. The lesions on the right calf was treated by Botulinum toxin type-A and that on the buttock was as control, with no treatment. The lesion treated by Botulinum toxin type-A improved markedly and the PASI score reduced from 7 to 1 after one month, while the control lesion did not have obvious improvement the PASI score reduced from 6 to 5.
