Research progress on acne therapies

Abstract: In recent years, new treatments for acne include the fourth-generation selective topical retinoic acid receptor(RAR)-γ agonist trifarotene, the topical minocycline foam 4% (FMX101), the new tetracycline antibiotic sarecycline, the first androgen receptor antagonist clascoterone, etc.. In addition, the application of new technologies to improve the original drug dosage form has also made some progress in reducing adverse drug reactions and improving efficacy. We reviews the new progress of the treatments for acne in this paper.
