Abstract: Objective: To study the differences of skin barrier and related indicators between lesion area and non-lesion aera of psoriasis vulgaris patients, patients and healthy controls. Methods: 1. The skin stratum corneum moisture content, PH and transepidermal water loss (TEWL) were measured by skin barrier function tester in  35 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 36 health volunteers; 2. The levels of serum NO and serum VitE were measured by clamp method and spectrophotometry in serum of 30 patients and 34 healthy controls. Results: The PH and TEWL of psoriasis lesions were (5.69+0.61) and (18.58 + 11.55), which were higher than the normal skin of patients and controls. Lesion area's The water content was (17.90+6.75) in the lesions which was lower than the normal skin of patients and controls. There was no statistically significant difference of PH, TEWL and water content in normal skin between patients and healthy controls. Compared with healthy controls, the level of VitE in patients was lowe and that of NO was higher. Conclusions: The indicators of skin barrier function of psoriasis lesion are abnormal, which are higher PH value, TEWL value and serum NO, lower water content of stratum corneum and serum VitE.
